Elegant Small Space Christmas Decorating
Decorating a small space for Christmas can be a delightful and creative endeavor. Here are five tips and benefits for achieving an elegant small space Christmas decor:
- Opt for Space-Saving Decorations:
- Choose decorations that don’t take up much space. Consider slim or tabletop Christmas trees instead of large ones. Wall-mounted or hanging decorations can also be effective in small spaces. This ensures that you’re not overcrowding the limited space you have.
- Focus on Quality Over Quantity:
- In smaller spaces, less can often be more. Invest in high-quality, elegant decorations rather than overcrowding the space with numerous items. This can create a more sophisticated and cohesive look, giving each piece the attention it deserves.
- Use Mirrors to Create Illusions:
- Mirrors can make a small space appear larger and reflect the festive decorations, creating a more immersive and visually appealing atmosphere. Consider incorporating mirrors into your Christmas decor, whether in the form of framed mirrors or mirrored ornaments.
- Coordinate Colors and Themes:
- Stick to a cohesive color scheme and theme to create a unified look. This can make the space feel intentional and thoughtfully decorated. Neutral colors with pops of holiday hues or a monochromatic theme can be especially effective in smaller spaces.
- Multi-Functional Decor:
- Choose decorations that serve multiple purposes. For example, use decorative baskets or festive storage containers as both decor and storage for small items. Consider items that can be repurposed after the holiday season, ensuring that you get the most out of your decorations.
Benefits of Elegant Small Space Christmas Decorating:
- Creates a Cozy Atmosphere:
- Decorating a small space with care can result in a cozy and intimate atmosphere, perfect for the holiday season. The close proximity of decorations can make the space feel warm and inviting.
- Easier to Maintain:
- With limited space, there’s less to clean and maintain. Elegant decorations often require less upkeep and can be easily stored for the next holiday season.
- Cost-Effective:
- Decorating a smaller space can be more cost-effective since you won’t need as many decorations to achieve a festive look. Investing in quality items for a small space can be more economical in the long run.
- Enhances Aesthetic Appeal:
- Thoughtfully decorating a small space can enhance its aesthetic appeal. An elegant decor scheme can make the space feel intentional and curated, contributing to a visually pleasing environment.
- Fosters Creativity:
- Working within the constraints of a small space can spark creativity. Finding innovative ways to decorate can be a fun and rewarding challenge, encouraging you to think outside the box in terms of design and arrangement.
My Metallic Ombre Slim Style Christmas Tree
I purchased my tree after Christmas after the holiday last year, while on clearance at the At Home store near me. They also offer online shopping and delivery. I’m so excited to unpack my Tinsel Slim Metallic Ombre Tree with clear warm lights from the At Home store Houston. It comes in both 5ft and 7ft. I went with the 5 ft. and paid $23 getting it on clearance. I like this slim style Christmas tree because it can fit almost anywhere, so perfect for small spaces, apartments, dorms, etc. You can also go tree crazy and get one for every room and still pay less than you would for much larger faux trees. Also, Tinsel style trees are great because they come in almost every color you can imagine, including unique metallic, like mine. See more metallic Christmas trees here.
The photo below is how my tree looked pre-decor and fluffing. My ombre tree, starting from the bottom, is gold, champagne, silver and white. I love that it gives this vintage yet glam appeal which goes so well in my home. Slim trees such as this will save you plenty of space and also work great in small spaces. See more Slim Christmas Tree Styles here.
Deciding on Colors for Christmas Tree Ornaments
I decided to decorate using the same metals as the tree. Outside of the metals (gold, champagne and silver) I went with the same palette of Robert Stanley’s Glass Berry Ball Ornaments sold in a set of 26 at Hobby Lobby. They are a combination sparkly, matte and shiny finishes. I describe the actual colors to be a mix of Maroon, Rose Pinks and Gold, which would go perfect with my tree and plans to throw in Rose Gold along with all the other metals I’m working with. It will also look stunning in the space next to my favorite gold cocktail bar.
I began shopping for Christmas ornaments two weeks before Thanksgiving at Hobby Lobby and Michaels. Hobby Lobby is 50% off all things Christmas, such a beautiful thing! Michaels is 40%. This sale is still going on and the percentage off will increase, but if you wait, you’ll only get the leftovers and returns.
I call my vision for my Christmas Tree, Romantic Feminine Glam, much like the rest of my house! So flowers were on top of my list. I found flowers in blush pink, white and gold with sequins and rhinestones, beautiful shimmer roses in gold and rose. Just so many blush Christmas decorations to choose from that it was hard to decide or not buy them all.
In the photos below, you have a glimpse of how all my decor came together. I stuck to shimmery and bling ornaments within my color. All those ornaments came from Hobby Lobby and At Home. The garland and other decor to come came from Michaels. More photos coming.
Decorating my Fireplace for Christmas in Blush and Gold
Because something seemed off with my fireplace along with my Christmas decor, I purchased a fireplace screen advertised on Facebook Marketbplace for $15. It was black, so I painted it gold with Rustoleum Bright Coat Metallic Spray Paint in gold. Looks much better now!
Here is a close up of the decorations on top of the fireplace. I am up to 8 reindeer now so I named them.
The faux shimmery pink and gold poinsettias are from Hobby Lobby and still available at some stores near me, but not online. You could purchase the bush of the flower heads and replace later if you wanted to, I loved these to fill out the top of the mantle. You can also, buy these separate or in packs of 3. I have all 3 options in my decor. These bushes go a long way though. The pink glass Christmas trees are from Robert Stanley’s Winter Blush Collection, and also purchased at Hobby Lobby.
I also placed the same garland that is on tree across mantle. There are two on the tree and two on the mantle. There is a string of cordless warm battery operated lights twisted along with the mantle garland (see first photo above). I hide the battery boxes behind the large faux poinsettias on both sides. By the way, Michael’s and Ross stores has best deals on lights, however Ross is a hit or miss. Here are some available online, but get them quick before they sell out. I advise getting your Christmas Decor as soon as it is available or you’ll be sorry you waited! Believe me, I know the feeling!
The 3 piece gold “JOY” stocking holder is from Target. I absolutely love it. It comes in a set of course and is available in both silver and gold and as of 11/29 is still in stock! It’s perfect for me, because others were too tall to fit below the television above the mantle. Since I only need two Christmas stockings (mine are from Hobby Lobby), I will just use a large bow for the center stocking holder using some shimmer blush ribbon from Walmart and following a quick 7 Step bow making tutorial on Pinterest, cause my bows I’ve been making since elementary school isn’t glam at all!
Final Touches of My Glam Berry, Blush & Metals Christmas Decor
Finally, my last touches to tree, fireplace, and of course the bar cart next to it.
Instead of an actual tree skirt, I instead put two white faux fur rugs together to mimic snow and then I sprinkled them with faux snow. You could also do a rose gold shimmer sparkle tree skirt like this one in the photo below. Click on photo to check availability. Again, Christmas decor sales out fast so start early.
I placed lighted gift boxes at the bottom and over-sized Christmas ornaments at the bottom of the tree. I also, decorated the opposite end of the fireplace with more shimmer, bling and metals.
For the tree topper, I have a gorgeous mirrored and antique gold Christmas Star, because it’s the “Christmas Star that Lights the Way”. See more Gold Star Christmas Tree Toppers.
The over-size ornaments below is from Michaels and the Pre-Lit Glitter Gift Boxes came from Kirklands. Below are more pink Christmas ornament ideas for getting this look at a affordable price.
Below are more ideas for Lighted Christmas Gift Boxes. These can be used indoor/outdoor. Click on photos for availability.

Crafting An Elegant Christmas Bar Cart For Entertaining
When crafting an elegant Christmas bar cart for entertaining, aim for a display that exudes sophistication, captivates the eye, and beckons guests to indulge in festive delights. Embrace a seamless fusion of opulence and warmth, striking the perfect balance between functionality and aesthetic allure. Here’s your blueprint for an unforgettable, boldly stylish Christmas bar cart:
- Dramatic Color Palette:
- Command attention with a bold and luxurious color palette. Deep burgundies, rich emeralds, and shimmering golds evoke a sense of regality. Make a statement with velvet ribbons, metallic accents, and lush greenery. This is not just a bar cart; it’s a visual symphony of festive extravagance.
- Exquisite Glassware and Bar Tools:
- Curate a collection of glassware that radiates refinement. Crystal decanters, gleaming coupes, and gold-rimmed glasses are non-negotiable. Your bar tools should be an extension of this elegance – polished shakers, gilded strainers, and meticulously crafted muddlers. Every element screams sophistication.
- Signature Festive Cocktails:
- Elevate the experience with signature cocktails that tell a story. Craft a menu of seasonally inspired concoctions, each with its own theatrical garnish. Whether it’s a cranberry-infused bourbon or a sparkling pomegranate martini, let every sip be a journey through the flavors of the holidays.
- Luxe Accoutrements:
- Deck your bar cart with lavish accoutrements that demand attention. Glistening bar trays, golden cocktail picks, and silver-plated ice buckets are not mere accessories – they are essential elements of the grand tapestry you’re weaving. Every detail counts.
- Statement Centerpiece:
- An arresting centerpiece should anchor your masterpiece. Whether it’s a towering floral arrangement, a cascading garland, or an oversized ornament, let it dominate the scene. This is the focal point, the pièce de résistance that ties everything together.
- Ambient Lighting:
- Bathe your bar cart in a warm and inviting glow. Subdued, golden lighting can transform the ambiance, creating a cozy yet glamorous atmosphere. Think strategically placed fairy lights, elegant candle holders, or a pendant light that casts a soft, enchanting radiance.
- Tactile Textures:
- Introduce sumptuous textures that beg to be touched. Velvet napkins, faux fur throws, and satin ribbons add layers of tactile indulgence. The experience of reaching for a glass or stirring a cocktail should feel as luxurious as the libations themselves.
- Personalized Touches:
- Inject a dash of personality into your display. Monogrammed coasters, custom drink stirrers, or a handwritten cocktail menu showcase your commitment to creating an intimate and personalized affair. Your bar cart should not only be elegant but uniquely yours.
Your Christmas bar cart is not merely a service station; it is an immersive experience, a visual and sensory journey into the heart of holiday indulgence. Aim for nothing less than a spectacle that leaves your guests in awe, eager to toast to the season in the lap of luxurious merriment.
Glam Christmas Bar Cart Decor And Styling
So this is really my final touches, the cocktail bar. There is a previous post on how my bar cart looked prior to Christmas if interested just search for Gold Bar Cart makeover in the Search box to the right. For Christmas styling, I replaced a few things with these these gorgeous tall reindeer to the bottom whom I’ve named Vixen and Blitzen. Vixen and Blitzen did not come with the bow-tie with gem. I added that to give them more glam and feminine touch, also to coordinate with the theme! They already had gem antlers, so now they are perfect! I added garland around the liquors on the tray. Lastly for bottom of bar, I added a intricate distressed cone style Christmas tree. Find similar gold mirrored bar carts here.
For the top part of the bar, I added a garland across the top of the bar. The gold Merry Christmas sign and reindeer were perfect size. Do you see the perfect bow-tie styling for this confident reindeer! I happen to have smaller rose colored ribbon.
For Christmas season I decided on a large gold 3-D star to place inside my Any-Theme Frame. I created the frame over my bar (Any-Theme Frame) to have a convenient and transitional focal point to place art and decor throughout the year. I also added candles in the back on top of the bar, the pink shimmered faux poinsettia and two gold Christmas trees. These same Christmas trees are on the mantle and are from Hobby Lobby.
This concludes my Berry Blush and Metals Christmas Decor Tour. I hope you’ve been inspired!
